Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa – Project Coordinator

Ko Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision te pūranga mō ngā taonga oro me ngā taonga ataata o Aotearoa. Ko tā mātou he pupuri, he poipoi i ngā kōrero, te auahatanga me te tāhū kōrero o Aotearoa i roto i ngā hopukanga oro, ataata hoki. Ka piripono mātou ki ngā uara o te honohono, auahatanga, me te penapena hei tautoko i tō mātou whāinga ki te pupuri, te whakawātea me te tiaki i ngā taonga oro, ataata hoki o Aotearoa. Ka whakatairanga tā mātou kaupapa i ngā mātāpono o te Tiriti o Waitangi, ka whakaata hoki i te tirohanga a te Māori me te Pākehā, ngā reo e rua me ngā tūmanako. Ka arataki hoki i ngā mahinga tahitanga, tetahi ki tētahi, tae rawa atu ki ngā mahi me ngā taonga ataata me ngā taonga oro me te hunga whai pānga mai.

Ko tā te Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa o Ngā Taonga Kōrero he kawe i ngā whāinga o te tūmahi kīia rā ko Ngā Taonga Kōrero. Ka mahi tahi me ngā rōpū mahi puta noa i Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanantanga, tae atu ki ngā tāngata mai ngā iwi, ki te rangahau me te whakarārangi i ngā taonga kōrero, me te tīwhiri i ngā rauemi hei āta tiaki i te reo Māori me te reo Ingarihi, ngā whakaaturanga ā-ipurangi ka whakatairanga i te wāhi ki te reo Māori i roto i ngā rohe i ngā iwi rānei. Ko te mea nui mō tēnei tūranga ko ngā hononga tērā ka whakatū ka whakapakari me ngā iwi me ngā hoa whai pūtea āwhina, kia aha ai, kia tau ai ngā whakaaturanga i runga i te tika i runga hoki i ngā mahinga tahitanga me ngā iwi.

The Kaiwhakahaere Kaupapa Project Co-ordinator – Ngā Taonga Kōrero collection will contribute to the following strategic outcomes:

  • Increase the discoverability of the collections: co-ordinate the project, research and curate exhibitions and catalogue audiovisual items in te reo Māori in line with archival standards and te reo Māori cataloguing standards.
  • Support iwi engagement: support the recruitment and training of iwi interns; and consult with iwi partners regarding the use of their material for exhibitions.

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualification or relevant experience
  • Fluency in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga to Level 3 LFE or above
  • Project co-ordination experience
  • 3 to 5 years experience with computer-based collection management systems.
  • 1 to 3 years customer service experience
  • An understanding of archival ethos, practice and standards
  • Experience working with iwi and Māori communities
  • A high level of personal motivation, initiative and adaptability
  • The ability to think innovatively, independently and as part of a team
