Jonathan Dennis, recently returned from Australia, discusses the National Film and Sound Archive (Australia) and the co-operative nature of the relationship between New Zealand and Australia. Dennis also describes meeting New Zealand’s last surviving pioneer film maker Ted Coubray and his place in New Zealand film history.

Discusses the increasing difficulties of surviving on limited funding. The financial situation poses problems because the pressure to find and save films is so consuming. Talks about growing use of the NZ Film Archive by researchers.
