Removal of tax write-off provisions.
Director, John Reid, and producer, Dave Gibson, discuss the implications of future financing of film production. Associate Minister of Finance, Mr. Falloon believes it is necessary to make sure people don’t make movies for the wrong reasons, for example “to get a refund of tax and nothing else.” Reid and Gibson insist the removal of tax write-off provisions will lead to less money to make films generally and in particular, less money from the private sector. The end of interview is cut-off.
