Pause on personal use requests

As Aotearoa New Zealand’s audio-visual archive, we care for a huge range of taonga.

A big part of our resourcing is being re-directed to an urgent, multi-year project to preserve large Crown collections on at-risk magnetic media. We only have until 2025 to digitally preserve over 400,000 items or they’ll be lost to future generations of New Zealanders.

Because personal use requests can be very resource-intensive, pausing them allows us to make faster progress on this project. This will ensure that New Zealand’s audio-visual heritage is preserved for all New Zealanders.

All other customer supply requests remain unchanged.
