Soap concerning the lives and loves of the staff of the medical centre, Shortland Street.

“Nate feels deeply betrayed by Hunter and Tess and runs off. Sophie arrives and a distressed Tess goes after Nate. Sophie accuses Hunter and Tess of selfishness for hurting Nate. Hunter rationalises that he was going to tell Nate about the relationship after Nate worked through his sexual issues. Sophie insists there are no issues; she has slept with Nate. Shocked, Hunter divulges that Nate went to a gay club with him. Sophie is furious and Hunter struggles to persuade Sophie not to spill everything to Callum and Justine. Later, Tess worries that she may have driven Nate to self-harm. Hunter offers his help, but Tess thinks she needs to go it alone. While searching for Nate, Tess runs into Justine who offers her support. Later, Sophie has the chance to tell all to Justine, but says only that shes learned Nate is gay. Hunter is relieved, but fears hes not out of the woods yet.

Kieran is unimpressed with Joeys minimalist attempt at sprucing up El Rancho and suggests he seek advice from a girl. But Joey finds Tanias suggestions too girly and Libby furnishes him with a stack of home interiors magazines. Gerald notices, offers his assistance, and he wont take no for an answer. Joey is uncomfortable with the help, because of Geralds sexuality, and Tania teases Joey about it. When Kieran gives the thumbs up to Geralds decoration plans, Joey is uncomfortable.

TK is studying for his GP exam, but when Alice asks him a question and he gets it wrong, TK has to admit that he hasnt studied enough. Later, Tess calls Callum to say that Nate has run away. Callum tells TK that hes not sure how to help, and TK suspects that Callum still knows nothing about Hunters affair with Tess. Later, TK tries to diagnose a patients recent shortness of breath. He diagnoses asthma, but is left with the feeling that he could be missing something.

Chris watches a house in Christchurch, awaiting his chance to retrieve Harry. When Tuesday and Harry emerge, Chris follows them to a park but Tuesday refuses to let Chris take Harry. Tuesdays loyalty to Guy is strong, but Chris eventually convinces her to travel with him and Harry back to Auckland. But his plans are thwarted when Harry wont leave without his puppy. Chris forms a plan: Tuesday and Harry will return to the park with the puppy. But when Tuesday and Harry are late, Chris goes to the house. He steels himself for a confrontation with Guy and Toni, but enters the house to find it deserted. Chris is devastated to lose Harry for the second time." TVNZ; tvnz.co.nz; 19/10/2007
