“The Gravy is a new contemporary culture show made especially for TVNZ Showcase. Made by award-winning filmmakers Sticky Pictures, each episode takes you on a thirty minute tour through a creative Aotearoa.
Meet the talented individuals and the industries creating modern art, from fashion, visual art, dance, music, literature and more. The Gravy is led by three creative New Zealanders; Fran Kora, (actor, muscian, surfer), Ross Liew (graphic artist, curator, photographer) and Rachel Davies (writer, filmmaker, environmental crusader).
One in four episodes will be a 30-minute showcase on one subject, the rest of the shows will be made up of presenter led stories and featured artists.

Episode two of cutting edge arts show The Gravy kicks off with presenter Ross Lieu getting very close and not so comfortable with the knife tricks and Cheeky jokes of Billy T award winning comedian Sam Wills. Sam reveals some of the magic behind his circus influenced comedy routines.
'Special Star' Amy Szostak then shows us the secrets of her Viking past- life through her award winning artwork.
We travel across the Tasman with her on her first ever trip outside New Zealand and learn more about the growing outsider art movement.
'The Truth' provides a long overdue public service, demystifing any preconceptions that we may have about installation art and it's history in the Aotearoa art scene
In the final story of The Gravy, Episode 2, presenter Fran Kora takes us to Rotorua to meet Tattoo Artist and Gallery owner Elton Buchanan, where we see the transition of his artwork from the wall to the skin and watch him work in his studio with a regular client." TVNZ; tvnz.co.nz; 09/11/2007
