The Tall Dwarfs are a New Zealand band featuring Alec Bathgate and Chris Knox. The band have been variously described as “passionate music fans inspired by the music of the 60’s, the punk movement, Captain Beefheart, T Rex and the weird ideas and instruments of the sixties period”. They have a distinctively “lo-fi” unpolished sound which uses guitars, Casiotone keyboards, drum machines and omnichord. Chris Knox is well known for his involvement with Flying Nun records as his 4 track was used to record early singles, he and Alec Bathgate were also members of “The Enemy” and “Toy Love”.
