The original commercial (F234478) was initially deemed inappropriate as it briefly showed a man (actor Peter Harcourt) in underwear in public. In this version, which utilises different footage, the underwear is shown without being modelled.

Voiceover as a suited customer with a briefcase enters [a bank]: “Ever wondered what the well dressed man wears next to his skin? That man there, say. Excuse me, sir.” The man turns to the camera and the voiceover continues, “Would you mind - oops!” The man vanishes to be replaced by the outline of his underwear. (This is in contrast to the original commercial in which his suit vanishes, but he remains standing in his underwear.) Voiceover: “As you’d expect - Jockey.” The suited man reappears and nods to the camera before moving on. “Thank you, sir,” from the voiceover.

Voiceover continues over stop-motion footage of cuts of material assembling themselves into underpants: “Men choose Jockey because the unique design and skilful construction make Jockey some of the most superbly fitting, most comfortable underwear ever developed.” Three packets of underwear onscreen - labelled “brief”, “mildway” and “long” - with “Jockey by Canterbury” in large letters beneath. Concluding voiceover: “Feel completely at ease in white Jockey. The world’s biggest selling underwear.”
