Talk by Lance Sergeant M.E.Griffiths, Wellington, of the 38th Forward Regiment.

He was attached to the force that was ordered to establish itself on the
northern side of Mono Island at the same time as the main attack was
delivered in the south.

They were taken to our destination by an American destroyer and landed at dawn safely and had to unload equipment. He injured his arm and was taken to hospital. He describes the difficulties encountered in setting up the hospital in jungle conditions.

There was bombing and ack-ack fire from the Japanese every night.

He ends with a Christmas message to his friends.
