Cadet A. Taylor continues to recount his experiences on his trip to the Greek front.
There were several bath houses in Athens which were much appreciated by the New Zealand soldiers, as they had been having difficulty bathing since leaving New Zealand. The contingent left by train for the North and ran into sleet before dark, quite in contrast to the desert. During the night, it became very cold with snow falling.
The troops left the train at a large town well up North, and were billeted in a school. After a few days they marched to a village eleven miles away, located in front of Mount Olympus. They were billeted in houses and during the day worked at road making. At the next village they dug-in defensive positions.
