A compilation of three audio cuts relating to the 1962 Mrs New Zealand quest.

1. Announcement of the prize winners at the Wellington Town Hall, Tuesday, 31 July 1962. Elsie Lloyd (Supervisor for Women's Programmes) makes a speech, and introduces Mrs Sicily who was Mrs New Zealand 1960. Mrs Sicily announces the prize winners from the seventeen district finalists. The prizes are awarded as follows:
Third place: Mrs Gluyas (Mrs South Canterbury)
Second place: Mrs Hanan (Mrs Waikato)
First place/Mrs New Zealand: Mrs Joan Coates (Mrs East Coast)

Mr Gilbert Stringer, Director General of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, gives a speech. The winner, Mrs Joan Coates then gives a speech, and Elsie Lloyd gives thanks to sponsors, the finalists, and their husbands.

2. Elsie Lloyd interviews Mrs East Coast and now Mrs New Zealand, Mrs Joan Coates. Mrs Coates speaks about how she feels about her win, about her husband and four children, and her prize trip.

3. Elsie Lloyd interviews the two runners-up in Mrs New Zealand 1962: second place, Mrs Ailsa Hanan from Waikato, and third place, Mrs Margaret Gluyas from South Canterbury. They both speak about their families, and about their excitement at winning places in the contest.
