Curry, Arch, 1905-1964, Commentator

Arch Curry, commentator with the New Zealand Broadcasting Service mobile unit in Italy, reports on action at Cassino by British infantry with New Zealand armoured support to assist them clear some enemy strong points.

The mobile recording unit went to Headquarters and listened to the
dramatic running commentary as orders were passed to and between
individual tanks.

Arch Curry describes the tank action that started at 6.30 pm on the 6th day of the general advance. German resistance was desperate to keep the main route into Cassino open, but Arch reports that Highway 6 behind Cassino was able to be cut and held by the Allies, barring the German escape route.
