Sapper J. B. Stuart of Otorohanga continues to describe his experiences in Greece.
As darkness approached, they got under way through the Aegean Sea and landed on a lighthouse island. The next day at dusk they again embarked for the next port, some 20 miles away. On arrival they were informed that the day before a German aeroplane had landed, asking if British troops were on the Island. At midday it was decided to make an early start, as it was raining, on the last 86 mile leg of their journey. A party of 64 bearded and tired men arrived at their destination at daylight the next day, formed up and marched into the township.
