Archival excerpt of the original opening broadcast from 28 April 1937:
Bill Elliot introduces C.G. Scrimgeour, controller of the National Commercial Broadcasting Service, who introduces Hon F. Jones, acting Minister for Broadcasting to declare the station open. Both speak.
Opening fanfare - "2ZB is on the air!"
Bill Elliot asks the first 2ZB announcers to introduce themselves to listeners and they briefly outline their programmes:
Mr C. T. "Aggie" Agassiz, Aunt Daisy, Ken Waterhouse, Kingi Tahiwi, Frank Bennett, (Bill Elliot) Arthur Collyns, Mark Tozer.
