On the 29.November1979 Air NZ Flight TE 901 crashed into Mt Erebus killing all 257 people on board. The DC10 aircraft was on a sight-seeing flight to Antarctica. Enquiries into the cause of the crash and the subsequent Royal Commission of Inquiry lead to thousands of words and
arguments which continue to this day.

One of the behind the scenes stories which to this day has remained untold, is the story of the consortium set up to look after the interests of 199 of the passengers and five of the crew. The consortium brought together 125 lawyers. Its chairman and administrator was Keith Peterson.

Insight '86 this week talks to Keith Peterson and the book he has written about the consortium, its tactics and its ultimate success. The interviewer is Neville Glasgow.
