"New Zealand in Colour" is a festival showing of nine National Film Unit (NFU) films about to take place in Wellington. The programme is introduced by an unidentified man [possibly Stanhope Andrews] who interviews NFU staff. Mr Geoffrey Scott talks of the new commercial emphasis of the NFU, colour production, and the Waitomo production, with a segment of commissioned music from composer Hans Columbi on organ. Cyril Morton gives an outline of the history of the NFU.

Oxley Hughan, Director of the colour section, talks about the technical challenges of colour movie photography in producing "Waitomo". A short musical excerpt is played from "Canterbury is a Hundred" by Anthony Noorts, performed by the Alex Lindsay Orchestra. Chief colour cameraman Burt Bridgeman speaks about aerial camera work over Mount Tarawera and the Southern Alps.
