BBC shortwave broadcasts to New Zealand by Pilot Officer Kingi Tahiwi who was an announcer with 2ZB before the World War II. These were broadcast as part of the BBC's "Calling New Zealand" programme.
He talks about the wartime mood of the British, describes the English and Scottish countryside and makes comparisons with New Zealand. He mentions London taxis, the tube, workers, wartime restrictions, hospitality shown towards New Zealanders, and the New Zealand war effort. (Broadcast 06 July, 1942).
