Ehau, Kepa Hamuera Anaha (b.1885, d.1970), Speaker/Kaikōrero

In this recording, Māori orator Kepa Ehau gives a talk in Te Reo Māori on Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation Day. He then repeats his speech in English.

He speaks about the Treaty of Waitangi and previous monarchs. On behalf of his people he extends blessings, loyalty, and prayers for the Queen.

He also mentions previous royal visits to New Zealand, including the Duke of Edinburgh in 1869, King George V and Queen Mary (then Duke or York and Duchess of Cornwall) in 1901, the Prince of Wales in 1920, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (then Duke and Duchess of York) in 1927, and the Duke of Gloucester in 1932. He also mentions the bust of Queen Victoria located in the courtyard at Ohinemutu.
