A Morning Report item on Maori crime and justice.

Opposition spokesman on Māori Affairs, Winston Peters, agrees with Justice Minister Geoffrey Palmer in opposing a separate Māori justice system. The system was a recommendation in a report from Māori lawyer Moana Jackson that was commissioned by the Justice Department. Moana Jackson explains some of the details from the report, emphasising that he suggested a different process for Māori offenders, not a separate system.
