Parachute Attack on Crete. In this BBC news flash, an announcer describes the German landing on Crete, and their use of 1500 paratroops disguised in New Zealand battle dress.

The announcer reports on Prime Minister Winston Churchill's comments that during the past few days British forces had been attacking heavy concentrations of German planes on the aerodromes of Southern Greece. It is now clear that these concentrations of German plans were a preview to the attack on Crete.

[This was the start of the Battle for Crete in which 671 New Zealanders were killed.]
