00.00 - 02.16: Hēnare Te Ua introduces the Regional Committee and National Committee. The chairman of the Regional Committee - Pura Parata. Chairman of the National Committee - Kuru Waaka. Thirteen teams out of a total of twenty-six performed for the first time. He introduces Te Waka Huia as the performing group.
02.17 - 05.16: Hīmene - "Te Atua..." Whaikōrero - Ngāpō Wehi.
05.18 - 06.08: Entrance - "Kei whea ake rā hei oranga..."
06.09 - 06.17: Commentary explaining "Kāore te pō nei mōrikarika noa..." composed by Te Kooti over 100 years ago, urging Māori people to hold on to their lands.
06.18 - 09.01: Waiata - "Kāore te pō nei mōrikarika noa..."
09.02 - 09.11: Commentary outlining the action song which was dedicated to Ngoingoi Pewhairangi whose life was devoted to all aspects of Māoritanga.
09.12 - 11.57: Action song - "Ki a koe te whaea..."
11.58 - 12.07: Commentary explaining poi item which tells of the creation, the transition from darkness into light.
12.08 - 16.03: "I te tīmatanga..."
16.04 - 16.17: Commentary outlining the haka "Te Tiriti..." which takes the government to task over the non-recognition of the Treaty of Waitangi, asking the Minister, Koro Wetere, to give the Treaty mana.
16.18 - 20.20: "Ka panapana/Te Tiriti o Waitangi - haka.
20.21 - 20.33: Commentary outlining the exit farewelling the many groups participating in the Festival, "Let peace triumph."
20.34 - 22.04: Exit - "Kei whea ake rā hei oranga/Hei konei rā..."
22.05 - 22.21: Commentary about the winners of the 8th NZ Polynesian Festival 1986 - Te Waka Huia.
