Two kaumatua resident in Makara (Wellington) for 30 years are returning home to Waikato-Maniapoto (Te Kuiti) to live. Te Peehi Kino is 85 years of age and of the Maniapoto and Tuwharetoa tribes. Te Kore Iriangi Tuwhangai Crown is 75 years of age and of the Waikato/Taranaki tribes. They have acted as kaumatua to all Māori residents in Wellington.
