Te Kapa Haka o Ruātoki (Cultural group)

RUATOKI is a small rural Tuhoe community with a total population of approx 600 people. Situated at the foothills of the northern entrance to the Urewa State Forest, It is the gateway to "Te Rohe Potae o Tuhoe., and approx 26K south o f Whakatane.

RUATOKI still holds fast to its cultural traditions and tikanga, an a large proportion still speak Māori fluently.

RUATOKI is quietly very proud and very humble that they have finally succeeded in competing at the highest level that is the 1990 Aotearoa Festival of Arts held at Waitangi.

There tutor is Tawhiri Williams - Male leader is Te Hue Rangi, Female leader is Turuhira Hare.
