Fowler, Leo (b.1902, d.1976), Interviewer
Brown, K. Waioeka, Speaker/Kaikōrero

Waiōeka Brown of Pūhā speaks [in te reo Māori] about Kahutapere and Rata, their marriage and their children in relation tō the carvings in the Whakatō meeting house (Te Mana o Tūranga) at Manutūkē.

She then relates a brief encounter about Mokaiohongia who marries Ruaparakiwai. Because of a remark that she relates tō her husband his father tells him to go and fetch his cousin Hekeiterangi as a suitable wife for him, thus the descendants at Whakatō are from this marriage between Mokaiohongia and Hekeiterangi.

Waiōeka Brown goes on to tell three more stories, they include:

Tūtekohi and his pet dog Kauerehuanuku

Whale caught at Mahia Peninsula

Pārua (A Te Karaka Chief)
