South Island Tour with Bill Kerekere. Presented by Bill Parker. This programme is a summary of the tour, which was suggested by Leo Fowler and sponsored by the NZBC. The purpose being to record cultural items from the South Island and historical events from tribal leaders.
- Two [unidentified] speakers from Ngai Tahu and waiata kinaki, "Karangatia ra" led by Pat Ngata and a Ngāti Huirapa party from Dunedin.
- Murihiku group from Invercargill sing "E pa to hau"
- Tribal history of the name of the wharenui "Waitaha" at Bluff, as told by Rapata Moengaroa Whaitiri.
- Mrs Raumati of Bluff helps teach young children te reo. The children sing "Pa Mai"
- Tiki Te Whatia [Dick] Te Tau of Ngāti Huirapa talks about the Araiteuru canoe and the Arai Te Uru club sings kinaki "He putiputi pai"
- Te Ahi Wera Couch talks about how the name "Rapaki" came about and the Māori name for Lyttelton - Whakaraupo
- Miss Kia Riwai M.B.E., senior Māori welfare officer for the South Island, speaks at a reception in her honour after her investiture.
- Waiata kinaki "Karanga Waipounamu haere mai"
