SUNDAY. MERVYN THOMPSON

An interview with actor, playwright and theatre director Mervyn Thompson made shortly before he died in 1992 which includes extensive footage of Thompson performing “Passing Through” (1991). The interview covers a variety of topics including his use of music in plays and philosophy of theatre, adversity in his life, controversy in 1984-1985 when he was accused of rape, influence of class and his identity, effects of cancer, and the reception of his work and his place in New Zealand theatre history.
