The characters of The Court of King Collywobble are introduced. It was King Collywobble’s birthday and everyone had given him presents. He is given an ink pen from the Queen, which he fills with ink and makes bubbles. Each time he does this, his face is splashed with red spots. The Queen thinks the King has got the measles and sends him off to bed. The Doctor gives him a dose of medicine, then an inhalation. The steam rises and all the red spots dissolve from his face. The King is glad to have such a clever doctor.
