The characters of The Court of King Collywobble are introduced. King Collywobble’s Aunty and Uncle are to visit, but the Queen is not very happy as she finds it difficult to get on with them. Also the King has decreed the palace must be given a spring clean. In the next few days the castle is a hive of activity, but a number of accidents leave the Queen and others recovering in bed. The chimney sweep arrives to clean the chimney,but the Prime Minister falls onto the buckets of soot, and makes a big mess. The Prime Minister takes himself off to bed, leaving an untidy palace. Aunty and Uncle arrive to a messy palace, and they aren’t impressed and Aunty and Uncle leave the castle. The King tidies up, and the moment he is finished everyone gets better. He then decides if his Aunty and Uncle don’t like him the way he is, he doesn’t want them to stay with him anyway.
