The characters of The Court of King Collywobble are introduced. King Collywobble has just announced an art competition, with lovely prizes. Everyone is allowed to enter. The castle is a busy place, with everyone working on their entries. The extra work makes everyone hungry so the Cook isn’t very happy as she must prepare more food. The Royal Footman finds an art work on the Cook’s bench - the Cook’s mixing board - and enters it. The King thinks the mixing board is a masterpiece, and awards it first prize. The Cook isn’t happy as she can’t find her mixing board to make the celebration dinner, and is annoyed to find it hanging on the wall and takes it back. So the King then awards the prize to the Queen for her entry. King Collywobble slips away, and decides the next competition will be for swimming or something like that.
