Members of the Ruapehu Ski Club transport building material up Mt Ruapehu on a flying fox to build their lodge. They use dynamite to clear rocks. Children also make use of the flying fox and have a great time. The McKendrik Brother’s truck arrives to supply the cement.
The women in an existing hut beckon the men and children in for lunch.
A plaque, commemorating those members of the club who lost their lives in World War Two, is laid into the building.
