Kapiti cheese has come under fire for using the names of famous tupuna on its products. They are now reviewing how they consult with iwi when it comes to using Te reo Māori in naming its cheeses. Heta Gardiner reports: Tāwhirimātea Williams, Mātanga Reo.

Julie Anne Genter has announced an extension of the Governments “Safety Boost” programme. The programme will see 11 rural highways receive safety upgrades and improvements.    

A Northland woman is asking for donor’s of breast milk to aid in feeding her baby girl after suffering from a series of cardiac events. A record low number of boating fatalities has led to Maritime New Zealand thanking the boating community. Maritime NZ says an increase in people wearing life jackets and heeding calls about safety are responsible for the low death toll.

Mountains to Sea Wellington are helping people to learn about marine conservation by taking snorkelling groups through marine reserves. The group are also running marine protection programmes for schools at no cost to drive a younger generation towards monitoring and protecting the marine environment. A youth born with Poland Syndrome is now one of softball’s rising stars and has highlighted his skills at the national under 15 tournament in Auckland. More than 400 people went on a treasure hunt in Wellington’s Kaitoke Regional Park at the weekend.
