Ministers visit Motutawa Avalon facility

On Wednesday we were thrilled to welcome Associate Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Kiritapu Allan, Minister of Education Chris Hipkins, MP for Hutt South Ginny Andersen, and guests to our Motutawa-Avalon facility.
The Ministers came to meet with our leadership team about Utaina, our inter-agency project to digitise endangered magnetic media, and to tour our newly-remodelled workspace.

Ngā Taonga has approximately 350,000 TVNZ and Crown-owned audio and video tapes to preserve in the next three years, and the majority of this work will take place at the Motutawa facility with the help of international archival digitisation firm Memnon.
Minister Allan told kaimahi she could see the passion they had for working on the nation's taonga.
