Partington’s Windmill situated on Symonds St, Auckland, its windmill removed. Crane next to the structure. [Interior]. View from top of the windmill. The slow demolition of the building, two men slowly dismantling the brick work at the top. A large pile of rubble where the windmill once stood.
Note: Partingtons Windmill was built by Charles Partington. During the New Zealand Wars Partington’s business, the Victoria Flour Mill lands the lucrative contract to supply the Army troops with biscuits. Despite bad storm damage in 1924 and being gutted by fire in 1931 the brick built Windmill continue to grind corn until 1941. It was demolished in 1950.
