These 16 mm films were made by Tainui Robins (1902-1989) who was a member of the Canterbury Mountaineering Club, Alpine Club and Canterbury Winter Sports Club. The films were screened to members and at public lectures. Mr Robins would often accompany the film with commentary.
018:33 (B&W) Men carrying materials weighing up to 60-70 lbs. up mountain to Carrington hut building site. They did this trip in three stages from [Levin Hotel], to Anticrow, to Carrington then up to Carrington hut site.

024:14 Men finally arrive at the site. Shots of framework already done on the hut. Tent shelter with iron roof. Work continues on the hut and it begins to take on a more finished look.
027:30 (COL) Men once again take up loads of timber, iron etc. for the building of the “Cameron Hutt”. Jeff Harrow carrying at least 150 lbs. is the main man on this 12 mile hike up to the site.
031:11 Group arrives at hut site. Stan Buikson? Roger Bryers and Tainui Robins built Cameron Hutt. Men carrying the windows up to the site.
