Donald Burnett, owner of the Mount Cook sheep station and keen amateur filmmaker, shot the films in this collection between 1950 and 1969.
A couple of shepherds, walking their horses behind a mob of sheep, and a sheepdog quietly droving the ewes and spring lambs along flat grasslands. Picturesque views of the Southern Alps dominate the background. The large mob is herded into an enclosure and then ear tagged and docked.
