Angela d’Audney presents a programme in which studio audiences question a panel member. “Tonight our guest is the national President of Black Power, Rei Harris. The issue of gangs and gang-related violence is certainly one that has been taxing our Police, the Courts, social and community groups, as well as the public. And in our audience tonight we have people from all over the country ready to challenge Rei. Rei Harris was one of the founders of the Black Power movement in New Zealand, a movement which started in Wellington in the early 70s and which has now spread throughout the country and numbers some 450 members. At 37 he’s a father of four, and owns his own contracting business, Harris and Partners, as well as leading Black Power.”
