Angela d’Audney presents a current affairs programme. “Tonight we have brought people from around the country to challenge Angela Foulkes, former assistant accountant at the ANZ Lower Hutt, and now Vice-President of the newly formed Council of Trade Unions. When Angela Foulkes came to New Zealand 15 years, she’d had no experience with unionism. It was a job in Auckland that led to her first encounter with a trade union when she was told that she had to join. She first came to the public’s attention three years ago when she led this country’s bank workers in an industrial action that closed banks around the country for a week. Today she is one of the leaders of the largest industrial body in the country at a time when workers face profound changes to the whole structure of employment.”
Individuals from the studio audience put questions to Angela Foulkes who replies to them, with the discussion chaired by Angela d’Audney.
