The Pamir - Your Ship and Mine.

Crew member (and former broadcaster) Francis Martyn Renner gives a talk about the captured Finnish sailing ship "Pamir" which has made six voyages across the Pacific under the New Zealand flag during World War II.

He describes how the ship has contributed to New Zealand's war effort. He lists the New Zealand Captains who have commanded her: Captain Stanich, Captain McLeish, and current Captain Roy Champion.

Renner describes a storm on a recent journey from San Francisco "in March of this year" [probably the October 1944 - March 1945 voyage] and says it showed how well-built and maintained the ship was. A recent trip from Vancouver [to New Zealand] was made in 48 days - believed to be a record.

He describes the skills men gain through life on board a sailing ship, and gives a poetic description of the seas and skies the ship passes through on a voyage.
