Recollections by Ray Yates of Tauranga, who was a survivor of the "Nino Bixio" which was carrying allied prisoners of war from North Africa to Italy when it was sunk by a Royal Navy Submarine. About 120 New Zealand POW's were killed when this ship was torpedoed. Recorded in the 1960's. The event took place August 17, 1942 off the coast of Greece.
