Happy holidays from all of us at Ngā Taonga

On behalf of everyone here at Nga Taonga, we’d like to wish you a happy holiday season and some well-deserved time off. For this year’s festive video, we delved into the recently preserved films of Tauranga amateur filmmaker Norman Blackie (1899-1993). The Blackie Collection is rich in records of community events around Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty in the mid-Twentieth Century. If you weren’t already planning to do so, we hope it inspires you to get out there these holidays and see what’s happening locally.
