The first elections, opening of the Legislative Assembly under a new Constitution and the following celebrations in Rarotonga involving Keith Holyoake, NZ Prime Minister, Sir Bernard Frergusson, Governor-General, and Albert Henry, Cook Islands Premier, are also covered.
