Talk by Brigadier G.E. Dittmer DSO MBE MC NZSC

He sends greetings from members of the 2NZEF serving in Fiji. He feels many New Zealanders have little knowledge of the work their soldiers are doing in Fiji. Members of the 2NZEF serving with the Fiji Military Forces have great admiration for the Fijian soldiers and the units of the Fijian Military Force which have taken part in active operations have done very well.

There is a New Zealand services club in Suva. A club dance is held weekly. The N.Z. Patriotic Funds Board provides games, recreational material and equipment. In summer there is an inter-unit cricket competition and in winter a rugby competition. The YMCA Army Welfare Service secretaries help organise recreation and the Army Welfare Educational Service runs a mobile library.

He ends by sending love to is wife Leonie.
