Third prize winner in the Spectrum competition in which listeners were invited to suggest subjects for a programme. Jan Vernon tells of her life in the MacKenzie Country in the early 1950s. She lived at the Lake Pukaki hydro settlement, worked at the YMCA canteen and was involved in the life of the Upper Waitaki power project workers.
