The Nine to Noon host, Kathryn Ryan interviews Helen Sutch, who is the only daughter of the late Bill Sutch and his late wife, Shirley Smith.

Background: In September 1974, Bill Sutch was charged under the Official Secrets Act in relation to some communications with an official of the Soviet Union's embassy in Wellington. It was claimed by the Security Intelligence Service (SIS) that Sutch had obtained official government information to give to the Soviets although no such information was ever found, and he had been out of the public service for almost a decade. Following the trial, a jury acquitted Sutch of the charges in February 1975.
At the time of this interview, the family had just obtained the SIS file on Bill Sutch which contained no further material information.
