Grey, Aggie (b.1897, d.1988), Interviewee

This recording was made on the 31st of October [year unknown but probably 1975], Aggie Grey, the famous Samoan hotelier, is celebrating her 78th birthday. A group of children and adults sing to her and give her a present.

She is then briefly interviewed by an announcer from station 2AP [Apia, Samoa]. She says she feels 18, although she is 78 today. She is drinking a lemonade, but the announcer says she deserves something stronger on this special day.

The interviewer comments that an article about a new Aggie Grey stamp has been published in a New Zealand newspaper and has created a lot of interest.
