Christchurch broadcaster Te Ari Pitama introduces a recording of Sir Heaton Rhodes who speaks about the church of St Paul's, Tai Tapu, built in memory of his wife, Lady Rhodes (Jessie Cooper.)

Sir Heaton and Te Ari Pitama describe features of the church which was designed by architect Cecil Wood and built by carpenters, Mr Guernsey and Mr Don. Only New Zealand timber was used inside the church and many articles were gifts to the church including the window donated by the parishioners. He lists some of the other gifts and donors.

[Possibly recorded on location in the church - organ music plays underneath throughout, with several passages of organ music in between the spoken segments.]
