U-series. Greeting from Egypt. Tom Carroll

Mobile Unit broadcaster Doug Laurenson introduces a recording for the Troops' Radio Request Session: greetings and a song request from Tom Carroll [Military Service no 2134] for18 Telford Avenue, Balmoral, Auckland. He has just had a spell in hospital. His request is for his favourite song "Little Grey Home In The West".

This item is part of a collection of recordings made by the Mobile Broadcasting Units, which travelled overseas with New Zealand forces between 1940-1945. They recorded New Zealanders' experiences of war and messages to their families and friends, which were sent back home to be played on a weekly radio programme.
