3. Sailor, Adrian Hayter, reads his Christmas at Sea on December 25, 1950.
4. Nancy Donne, known as 'Gran' on 1ZB, talks about her early days at 1ZB in the 1930's. Recorded in the 1950's.
5. Albert Scheib of Queenstown tells of being at Dawson City during the gold rush in Alaska in 1898. He talks about his memories of the tough conditions just to reach the gold-mining area, and also soem details about 'Klondike Kate" a dancehall performer and the techniques the girls and bar owners used to part miners form their money. He talks about Kate's relationship with a bartender who he says swindled her when he encouraged her to move to The United States to get into films. He then talks about a gambler named Soapy Smith. Recorded in 1961.
6. The call of the kiwi from Stewart Island, the South Island and the North Island male birds. Recorded in 1961.
7. Joe Clark recalls early hardships in farming in Northland in the 1900's. Recorded in 1961.
