Top o' the Morning with Brian Edwards.

- Interview with pioneering heart surgeon Sir Brian Barratt-Boyes.
He speaks about his childhood, medical school (which he started at age 16 or 17), and the influence of Dr John Kirkland. He also speaks about the beginning of heart surgery as we know it today.

He explains the function of the heart and circulation. He speaks about open heart surgery, and his work. His own coronary artery bypass surgery operation gave him insight into what his patients experience.

- Interview with Olympic equestrian Mark Todd.
The interview begins with comments about Todd about appearing on 'This Is Your Life'. He then speaks about his early life - he spent a lot of time with the horses on his grandparent's farm. His grandfather bought him his first few horses, including a black pony called Nugget.

He speaks about starting out with pony clubs, then his early riding competition career. He tells a tale of how he was nearly killed at a show in Gisborne. He was sleeping in a tent at the showgrounds, when his mates stuck a borer bomb into his tent as a prank.

He won Badminton in 1980 riding Southern Comfort, and won Olympic Gold medals in 1984 and 1988 with horse Charisma. He speaks about Charisma, and the relationship between a rider and the horse. He also talks about his height, riding style, learning to ride in New Zealand, and the perception of riding being a 'high class' sport due to the expense involved.

Todd made commercials for Woolrest and Bell Tea. He speaks about sponsorship, and then the media interest in his love life. The interview concludes with comments about the future. He will compete in the next Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and he has just been chosen as 'Brand Champion' for the New Zealand way - to endorse New Zealand products overseas.
