Ngarimu investiture of Victoria Cross, 1943-10-06.

On the 6 October 1943, the Ngarimu Investiture was held at Ruatoria. Much preparation went into organising this hui, as thousands of visitors converged onto Whakarua Park, Ruatoria.

- The first speaker to welcome the Vice Regal party and visitors to Ruatoria is Materoa Reedy (aunt of the late Lt. Moananui Ngarimu)

- Mass entertainment is provided by the many schools in the area, as well as individual local Kapa Haka groups

- The Master of Ceremony is Ta Apirana Ngata
